Welcome to Great Knelle Farm and Cottages. You will have the freedom of 600 acres of working farm, nature trails, river banks to enjoy, the peace and quiet of the Sussex countryside If you prefer cycling, we also have bicycles available for all the family free of charge.
The farm is run under the Countryside Stewardship Scheme which means the enphasis is on conservation. There are 2 miles of coarse fishing on the river Rother. The Owl And Hawk Society's breeding boxes ensure satisfying evening bird watching sessions. We are fortunate to have a pair of breeding otters.
For the more adventurous there is the "Muck-in Muck-out" farming experience. You enjoy being farmer for the day. This is available by prior arrangement, and more details are available on request.
We have a wealth of other attractions to enjoy at Rye, Tenterden and Camber Sands. You'll find steam trains at Northiam, passing through the farm on their way from Bodiam Castle to the lovely old town of Tenterden. Rye is ideal for antique hunting and Camber Sands has fantastic sandy beaches. Golf and horse riding can be arranged, or a day in France for super shopping and wine bargains. This holiday appeals to all ages and abilities.
Unfortunately, farm insurance prevents pets on the farm. However, Dogs can be accommodated in the Gamekeepers house in the village as privileged guests, by prior arrangement.
